In addition to permit fees, each jurisdiction assesses fees on new development to pay for the anticipated impact of that development on existing roads, sidewalks, sewers and other public infrastructure. These fees vary widely by jurisdiction and can be significant. While the City of Portland has waived SDCs for new ADUs that are not used as short term rentals, most jurisdictions in Oregon still charge SDCs for new ADUs. In some locations, these fees exceed $20,000 for a new ADU. These fees are not included in Dweller’s fixed price but we will calculate these fees in advance so that you know what to expect in planning your ADU project.
