In Beaverton, OR, an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is defined as a single unit providing complete independent living facilities for one or more persons, including permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking and sanitation. An ADU can be created by adding floor area, subject to the limitations of the zoning district in which it is located; or constructing a new structure, attached structure, or manufactured home with an internal or detached accessory dwelling unit.
